One cooling dashboard for your entire PC

Instead of configuring every component in a separate utility, Fan Control lets compatible fans and temperature sensors work together as one system.

Custom fan curves

Create linear, graph, trigger, flat, sync, mix or automatic fan behavior. Tune the relationship between temperature and speed to match your cooling goals.

CPU, GPU and case fans

Manage compatible motherboard headers, graphics card fans and other cooling devices from a unified interface, including supported AIO hardware and plugin-based devices.

Mixed temperature logic

Combine multiple fan curves with maximum, minimum or average logic. Case airflow can react to both CPU and GPU heat instead of following only one sensor.

Response tuning

Adjust hysteresis, response time, step-up and step-down behavior to prevent constant speed changes when temperatures move by only a few degrees.

Fan calibration

Measure how each compatible fan behaves, including its usable minimum, start and stop points. Calibration also enables target RPM operation where supported.

Plugin expansion

Add community or developer plugins for extra sensors and supported devices. The modular approach extends Fan Control beyond its default hardware detection.

Quick installation

Download and start in three steps

Use the official release source, keep the application in a dedicated folder and complete the guided setup before applying your first fan curve.

Get the official release

Open the Fan Control releases page on GitHub and choose the current installer or portable archive provided by the project.

Install or extract

Run the installer, or extract the portable archive into a permanent folder. Launch FanControl.exe from that location.

Pair and calibrate fans

Follow the assisted setup, identify controls and speed sensors, then calibrate compatible fans before building temperature-based profiles.

Fine-grained cooling

Quiet at idle. Responsive under load.

A useful cooling profile is not simply “low” or “high.” It should stay stable during light work, rise smoothly during sustained load and react to the component that is actually producing heat.

  • Set minimum and maximum speeds for predictable airflow.
  • Use hysteresis and response time to reduce unnecessary fan ramping.
  • Build mixed curves that react to CPU, GPU or other available sensors.
  • Save different profiles for everyday use, gaming or heavy workloads.

What is Fan Control?

Fan Control is a Windows application focused on customizable fan management. It can use supported temperature sensors and controls to create individual or mixed fan curves for CPU, GPU, case and other compatible cooling hardware.

Is Fan Control free to download?

Yes. The project provides its software through the official website and GitHub release repository. This page sends downloads to the official release source and does not repackage the application.

Can Fan Control manage both CPU and GPU temperatures?

It can use multiple available temperature sources and combine them in control logic. For example, case fans can follow whichever component is currently hotter by using a mixed curve with maximum logic.

Why does Fan Control not detect one of my fans?

Detection depends on the motherboard, controller, GPU, driver and sensor access supported by the underlying hardware interfaces. Check the official documentation and project compatibility guidance, and consider supported plugins where appropriate.

Should I calibrate every fan?

Calibration is useful for identifying start, stop, minimum and maximum behavior. It is also required for target RPM mode. Watch the system during setup and avoid interrupting the calibration process.
